🎭 The multi-award-winning performance comes to Magnus in Pazin! MASKS is an original performance by Dražen Šivak, created in the form of a lecture performance, exploring the symbolism, history and performance techniques connected to the mask – from early rituals and the first actors, through carnival traditions and Commedia dell'arte, to contemporary theatre. A mask hides the face, yet at the same time makes revelation possible. By putting on a mask, the actor explores different forms of expression and opens a space for deeper reflection on identity, society and the human experience. From the first shaman and the first actor, through Arlecchino and Petrica Kerempuh, the story of the mask reaches Dražen Šivak, whose performance brings together different layers of theatrical and human history. Written, directed and performed by: Dražen Šivak Dramaturgy: Karla Leko and Patrik Gregurec Creative collaborator: Maja Posavec Produced by: Dubrovačke ljetne igre and Grupa Premiere: 2023. 🏆 The performance has received numerous awards, including the Marul Award for Dramaturgy, the Audience Award for Best Performance at Marulićevi dani, several awards at ArtTremaFest in Ruma, awards at the Monodrama Festival in Zadar, the Grand Prix at the 13th Be:femona in Bečej, and the Audience Award at TKT Fest in Tuzla. 📅 Friday, October 2, 2026 🕗 8:00 PM 📍 Magnus, Pazin Join us for a theatre experience in which a single mask becomes a starting point for countless stories about humanity, art, identity and society.
