Tango at Gervais – dance course

A new cycle of the Argentine tango course organised by the Tango Cristal dance school starts at Centar Gervais in Opatija on 5 October 2026. The course, which began last autumn, has so far gathered around fifty participants, and interest in this attractive dance keeps growing. “Tango at Gervais” takes place on Mondays from 7:15 PM to 9:00 PM (until 28 December 2026) and is led by renowned instructors from Croatia, Argentina and Slovenia with more than 25 years of experience in Argentine tango. Argentine tango emerged in the late 19th century in Argentina and Uruguay, among the different social and cultural communities of Buenos Aires and Montevideo. UNESCO inscribed it on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009. The special feature of the Opatija course is its international approach – participants learn from instructors with different dance backgrounds and traditions. No previous dance experience is required, and coming as a couple is welcome but not mandatory. 📅 First session: Monday, 5 October 2026, 7:15 PM 📍 Centar Gervais, Opatija 📧 Registration by 1 October 2026: tango.opatija@gmail.com The organiser reserves the right to change the programme and dates.
