On the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ioannis Kapodistrias, you are invited to a free screening of the film The Last Night of Ioannis Kapodistrias (2020). The family of Count Kapodistrias originates from Koper, from where they moved to Corfu in the 14th century. The young Kapodistrias studied medicine, philosophy and law. He first practised as a physician and then became one of the most respected politicians and diplomats in Europe. He was elected the first president of independent Greece and is considered the founder of Greek independence. The documentary shows the events in Ioannis Kapodistrias’s life that led to his assassination.
