Čeripnja Fest

The already traditional and everyone's favorite Čeripnja fest is back this summer. On Sunday, September 27, 2026, behind the school, teams of chefs will fill their čeripnjas and cover them with embers, and what follows is a treat for everyone gathered. The traditional way of preparing food under a čeripnja is one of the symbols of the Istrian peninsula and requires patience, knowledge and a love of cooking. The Čeripnja fest has been held in Bale for many years and is competitive in nature. The winners receive valuable prizes, while the proceeds from tasting vouchers go to charity. This year, it will be held on September 27, 2026, in the area behind the school in Bale, according to the following schedule: 10:00 - lighting the fire 11:00 - gathering of participants 12:00 - covering the čeripnji with embers 1:00 - sale of food tasting vouchers 2:00 - tasting of dishes prepared under the čeripnji 4:00 - announcement of the winner and award ceremony INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS: Interested teams can contact the phone numbers 099/493 0834 or 052/824-270, by e-mail at info@bale-valle.hr or in person at the Bale Tourist Board office (Rovinjska 1). The Bale Tourist Board provides €40 per team for groceries. Teams can also add their own ingredients and spices. The gathering of participants begins at 11:00. The winner will be chosen by a jury, and the best teams will receive valuable prizes. INFORMATION FOR VISITORS: Tasting of prepared dishes is possible only with a tasting voucher, the price of which is 10.00 EUR. The price includes cutlery, bread and a glass of selected drink in addition to the dish. The sale of tasting vouchers will start at 13:00, and the tasting at 14:00. All proceeds from the sale of tasting vouchers will be directed to humanitarian purposes. See you on Sunday, September 27, at this year's Čeripnja Fest
