Perseid Night in Višnjan is a special astronomical event held at the Višnjan Observatory – one of the most active astronomical observatories in Europe – during the annual Perseid meteor shower. Each year around 12 August, the earth passes through the debris cloud of comet Swift-Tuttle, creating a spectacular "shooting star shower" visible with the naked eye. Višnjan Observatory offers guided observations through telescopes, astronomer talks and an evening under the starry skies of Istria.
