Olive Picking at Tonina Hiša in Sv. Peter

The “Sergej Mašera” Maritime Museum Piran invites you to an olive picking, a presentation and tasting of crushed olives and a free visit to the Tonina Hiša Ethnological Collection. On Saturday, 7 November 2026, between 10 AM and 3 PM, olives will be picked in the small olive grove of Tonina Hiša. Join us and try different methods of picking from the past and the present. During this time the visit to the ethnological collection is free; you will learn more about olive-oil production and rural life in Slovenian Istria in the past. Pickers are offered Istrian minestrone with homemade bread and dessert, and the best pickers will be rewarded with olive oil. Nadja Bažec will present how crushed olives are prepared. Olive oil and olive products will be on sale. Warmly welcome! In case of rain the event will be postponed.
