ARTERIA – 17th International Visual Arts Festival

This year's 17th edition of the Arteria International Visual Arts Festival brings the colours, rhythms and contemporary artistic stories of Mexico to Novigrad. Titled ¡HOLA MEXICO!, the festival runs from 21 to 25 September, bringing together numerous artists and connecting the European and Latin American cultural spaces through a diverse programme. In the setting of the Lapidarium Museum, among the stone traces of Novigrad's past, a vivid and dynamic space of contemporary art emerges. Photography, painting, video art, sculpture and textile works intertwine with performances, workshops, talks, rituals and participatory programmes in which the audience too becomes part of the artistic experience. Mexico is presented not as a distant, exotic image, but as a living, diverse and powerful culture, through the encounter of past and present, individual experience and collective memory. The programme features Sonia Siblik, Miguel Valverde, Marco Grajeda, Lalok, Francisco Rubiel, Rubí Juárez, Chespi, Sofía Andretta, Juan Jorge Bautistas, Luxana Lozano, Armando Carrillo, Neivi Martínez, Atoyac Dance Group, Marlen Glavić, Davor Sanvincenti, Ines Borovac and many other artists.
