Concert – Aleksandar Madžar in the Euphrasian Basilica In the magical setting of the Euphrasian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a concert by pianist Aleksandar Madžar, one of the most respected musicians of our time, will be held on May 15, 2026. The concert is part of the third edition of the Piano PoolA festival, which brings top artists from the world's most famous stages to Istria. Aleksandar Madžar, born in Belgrade, is an internationally recognized pianist with a rich concert career that includes performances with the world's leading orchestras and conductors, including André Previn, Paavo Järvi and Andris Nelsons. He performs in prestigious halls such as the Wigmore Hall, the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and teaches at conservatories in Brussels and Hamburg. For the Poreč audience, Madžar has prepared a recital with works by Domenico Scarlatti, Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert Schumann and Claude Debussy, in which the audience will be able to enjoy the combination of virtuosity, interpretative depth and the spiritual atmosphere of the Euphrasian Basilica. The concert is intended for the citizens of Poreč and their guests and represents the highlight of the spring cultural program in the city.
