Meetings in Piran: Mitja Guštin

You are kindly invited on Tuesday, 3 November, at 6:30 PM to a meeting with the archaeologist Mitja Guštin, professor emeritus and native of Piran. Ana Bembič will talk with the guest about his connection to Piran, his work and his new books about Portorož. Mitja Guštin is an expert on the Celtic period in the eastern Alps and on medieval and modern-age archaeology. He worked at the Posavje Museum, headed the Department of Archaeology at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana and took an active part in founding and shaping the University of Primorska’s cultural-heritage programmes. Although his career took him elsewhere, he remains closely tied to the Primorska region and especially to Piran, where he grew up. Organiser: Piran City Library.
