Bogumil Car – Non-Belonging as a Perspective

On Friday, September 11th, an exhibition of works by artist Bogumil Car opens. The opening begins at the Museum of the Town of Rovinj-Rovigno at 7 PM and at the Multimedia Centre at 8 PM. The exhibition "Bogumil Car – Non-Belonging as a Perspective" presents a cross-section of the work of an artist who, despite an extremely broad and valuable body of work, remained on the margins of Croatian art history. Bogumil Car was a painter, draughtsman, illustrator and caricaturist, but above all an artist who remained faithful to his own artistic sensibility throughout his life, without aligning with the dominant artistic currents of his time. Car moved to Rovinj in 1954, where he spent the last fifteen years of his life, creating intensively and recording the streets and landscapes of Rovinj. He can thus be seen as a chronicler of the town. At the Museum of the Town of Rovinj-Rovigno the exhibition remains open until October 31st, and at the Multimedia Centre until October 10th. Admission is free.
