The Tortoise and the Hare – Centar Gervais, Opatija

Text and direction: Vlatka Rubil Costume design: Paula Dojkić Lighting design: Veljko Skol Performers: Vlatka Rubil and Majkl Mikolić Running time: 30 minutes Age group: 3+ A perfectly ordinary day in the forest turns into a real event – the great race of the Tortoise and the Hare! Our two heroes work as postmen, but understand their job quite differently. The Tortoise is diligent and responsible, if a little slow, while the Hare is fast and agile, but lazy, irresponsible and convinced that nobody can match him. When they decide to test their strength in a race, the Hare will soon discover that speed is not always enough to win. The well-known fable of the Tortoise and the Hare brings, through humour and an exciting race, a story about perseverance, responsibility and the value of effort, and shows that conceit and laziness can sometimes backfire badly. Who will reach the finish line first, and what does it really take to win? Find out in this cheerful theatre adventure!
