Kino OKO: Yugo Goes to America – Santa Lucia

Kino OKO moves to the Santa Lucia vineyard for the last time this season. In cooperation with Franković Wines, we've prepared a screening of the film "Yugo Goes to America" at one of their most beautiful vineyard spots. Subtitles in English. About the film: "Yugo Goes to America" is a documentary road movie following a crew from Belgrade on a journey of over 10,000 kilometres from New York to Los Angeles. Along the way they explore the story of the small Yugoslav car that once made it onto the American market and became a pop-culture phenomenon of sorts. Through the Yugo, its fans and the people they meet along the way, the filmmakers open up themes of Yugoslavia, nostalgia, growing up and the meeting of two cultures. Directed by Filip Grujić and Aleksa Borković. It had its world premiere at the Danish festival CPH:DOX 2026, and at Beldocs it won the EU Audience Award for Best European Documentary as well as a special recognition in the TEEN selection. The screening also has a charitable character — donations collected will go to the Inclusion Centre in Buje.
