Science Film Festival: Wider Than the Sky

The Science Film Festival 2026 takes place from 2 to 15 November in 10 Istrian towns. Theme of this year’s edition: artificial intelligence and a sustainable future. Organiser: Udruga tehničke kulture “Galileo Galilei”. Programme: 🎬 Wider Than the Sky (83 min) Director: Valerio Jalongo · Italy, Switzerland · 2025 Artificial intelligence is portrayed as a promise, a threat and an illusion in this broad exploration of its rapidly growing influence. Moving between corporate research environments and experimental arenas such as a human-versus-AI drone race, the film examines how intelligent systems are reshaping technological, economic and ethical landscapes. Scientists, developers and thinkers reflect on whether qualities traditionally associated with the human inner life — such as consciousness, empathy and intuition — can be replicated or transferred to machines. festival-znanstvenog-filma.eu
