Dvigrad Festival – Gli Angeli Genève

The second concert of the 24th edition of the Dvigrad Festival brings an encounter with the work of one of the important composers of the early Baroque. On Saturday, 12 September at 8 PM, in the Church of St. Euphemia in Rovinj, the Swiss ensemble Gli Angeli Genève will perform. The programme features the work of Johann Hermann Schein – Israels Brünnlein (Fontana d'Israel), a collection of sacred madrigals belonging to the most significant achievements of German vocal music of the early 17th century. Precise vocal polyphony, sacred texts and the richness of early Baroque musical expression will give audiences the chance to encounter a rarely performed repertoire in a special sacred space.
