Workshop: WHEN THE SCREEN BECOMES A FAMILY MEMBER

Smartphones, tablets, computers and social media have become part of our children's everyday lives – and of the whole family's. How much does digital technology affect children's development, attention, emotions, relationships and daily habits? Where is the line between useful use of technology and its excessive influence? In this workshop we will talk about how screens shape children's growing up, why they are so appealing to children, how to set healthy boundaries, and how parents can support children in building a good relationship with the digital world. Because the question is no longer whether children should use technology, but how to teach them that technology does not control them. Speaker: Marija Gliha Družetić, psychology graduate As a psychologist, Marija Gliha Družetić has been helping children and parents at the Vladimir Nazor primary school in Rovinj for 22 years. From 2016 to 2024 she was head of the County Professional Council of Psychologists for primary and secondary schools of Istria County. She takes part in continuous professional development in the field of school psychology and beyond. The growing need of children and adults for psychological help and counselling led her to open the counselling centre "Motiv" in 2023, which has operated as part of a private psychology practice since 2025.
