Pazin Fair (Samanj)

The Pazin Samanj is still the largest traditional monthly fair in Istria, and on that day visitors from all over Istria gather in Pazin – some to trade at a good price, others to meet again, and others simply to feel a bit of the unique atmosphere and hear the heartbeat of Istria. Although the traditional products of the countryside have long given way to newer and more commercial goods, at the Pazin fair you can still find billhooks and hatchets from local smithies, as well as hoes and rakes made in the breaks between field work.
