What can old graves, stone monuments and inscriptions worn by time tell us today? And what stories are hidden behind names we pass every day, perhaps without knowing who they belonged to? The Vodnjan Tourist Board and journalist Carla Rotta invite you to a special guided tour of the Vodnjan cemetery – a place where stones, inscriptions and symbols preserve stories about people, the passage of time and the history of the town itself. On Saturday, 3 October, at 10:00 AM, we will take a walk through memories, history and fascinating details that have remained preserved among the cemetery's old graves. Together, we will discover people, symbols, events and personal stories of those who left their mark on Vodnjan, as well as traces of a past that even the passing years have not managed to erase. Some stories may be familiar, others may surprise us, while some may open a window into a part of Vodnjan's history that we no longer know well enough. Because a cemetery is not simply a place of silence. It is also a place of memory, stories and history. In many ways, it is a book about a town – written through names, monuments, architecture and symbols. This is an opportunity to discover a different side of Vodnjan, beyond the usual tourist routes, and to hear the stories that remain hidden in plain sight. Let us take you to a place where silence tells its own stories – and discover together what Vodnjan still has to tell us. 📍 Vodnjan Cemetery, Vodnjan 📅 Saturday, 3 October 🕙 10:00 AM 🎟️ The guided tour is free of charge.
