Traces of Belonging

Tatjana is lonely. Born in Croatia, she lived all over Europe before ending up in Amsterdam. Fifteen years later, her teenage son is embarrassed by his strange mother with her terrible Slavic accent, who lacks Dutch reserve. But it's an old problem: Tatjana has always and everywhere felt like a foreigner. Now she is determined to finally find the holy grail of belonging, so she visits friends and relatives scattered across Europe and asks them how it's done. In the end, she will have to confront an old pattern within her own family.
