The Istrian Truffle Festival in Buzet – the "City of Truffles" – is the largest and most important festival dedicated to the Istrian truffle, one of the world's most prized gastronomic treasures. Buzet and the forests along the Mirna river are home to Tuber magnatum Pico, the white truffle whose aroma and flavour are unmatched. The festival includes the world's largest truffle frittata, tastings, a truffle and truffle-product fair, truffle-hunting dog competitions and a rich cultural programme.
