Koper Day of Culture 2026

On Thursday, 8 October 2026, Koper comes alive in the name of culture. The Municipality of Koper, together with the city’s cultural institutions, is preparing Koper Day of Culture, a joint project presenting the town’s rich cultural heritage, creativity and cultural life. In the afternoon the participating institutions open their doors to the public and offer a varied programme of free events, guided tours, presentations, workshops, lectures and other cultural experiences. Part of the programme requires advance registration because of limited places. 📚 KOPER LIBRARY • 5:00–6:00 PM Literary and music evening “A Neighbour in Words and Music”: Drago Mislej Mef and Andrea F., City Reading Room, Trg Brolo 1 (60 places, registration required) • 6:00–7:00 PM Walk through Santorio’s Koper (meeting point in front of Koper Library) 🏛️ REGIONAL MUSEUM KOPER • 5:00–6:00 PM Family workshop “Discover Santorio’s World with the Helper Paws” (15 places, registration required) • 6:00–6:30 PM “Gothic Express: stone, frescoes and secrets of Istrian wall paintings” – guided tour • 7:00–8:00 PM Lecture “The Journey to the Afterlife in Roman Times in Slovenian Istria” (Dr Maša Saccara) 🎭 KOPER THEATRE • 4:00–5:00 PM Theatre walk – behind the scenes (25 places, registration required) 🇮🇹 “SANTORIO SANTORIO” ITALIAN COMMUNITY • 8:00 PM Theatre play “Santorio Santorio.
