Matejna 2026

From 13 to 21 September 2026, Viškovo will once again come alive with Matejna, a traditional event marking the feast of St. Matthew, the patron saint of Viškovo. Over nine days, visitors can look forward to a varied programme combining tradition, culture, sport, music, gastronomy and activities for the youngest. This year's Matejna opens on Sunday, 13 September, with the second edition of the Halubaj Trail, a race combining nature, landscape and the flavours of Halubje. The programme continues throughout the week with numerous children's workshops and storytelling sessions, health and prevention programmes, workshops at the House of the Halubje Bell-ringer, and sporting, cultural and entertainment content. The central part of the event brings a particularly eventful weekend marked by concerts and entertainment at the Milihovo car park.
