Dvigrad Festival – Profeti della Quinta

The third concert of this year's Dvigrad Festival is dedicated to one of the most important forms of Renaissance secular vocal music – the madrigal. On Saturday, 19 September at 8 PM, in the Church of St. Francis in Rovinj, the internationally acclaimed ensemble Profeti della Quinta will perform. In the programme "Beauty in Four Parts" they will present madrigals by Philippe Verdelot, a French composer whose work in Italy played an important role in the development of the early madrigal. Four voices, rich polyphony and refined Renaissance sound will take us back to a time when love, poetry and music met in one of the most important musical forms of the European Renaissance.
