On Saturday, November 28th, starting at 9:15 PM, the Pula City Gallery will host the Night of Galleries! The Night of Galleries was held for the first time at the 22nd Istrian Book Fair in 2016 as the central part of the newly inaugurated regional program Ljubljana bere, and for its 10th anniversary, the Night of Galleries will once again host the most important names of the contemporary Slovenian art scene at the 32nd Istrian Book Fair. This marathon, full-length program that combines literature, fine arts and photography, and Pula's gallery spaces become the stages of the Fair, will begin with the opening of the exhibition by Samira Kentrić "Following Trends" at the Pula City Gallery, and continue in the Makina Gallery with the exhibition "Star Map" by Dušan Šarotar. The exhibition "Following Trends" by Samira Kentrić presents two segments of the author's work that critically reflect on political and social events. The first segment consists of digital drawings and book covers created over the past twenty years, while the second segment features original watercolors from the graphic novel Balkanalia, which depicts growing up in a transitional era from a child's perspective. The exhibition Star Map by Dušan Šarotar was created in parallel with the writing of the novel of the same name, with which the author rounded off the trilogy about the tragic fate of the Jews of Prekomurje. Starting from personal family history + Šarotar explores spaces of absence through photography. Misty landscapes, ruins and traces of a vanished world become meeting places of personal memory and collective history, and the act of taking a photograph is a farewell ritual. This program is taking place in collaboration with the Pula City Gallery and Makina Gallery, and under the auspices of the City of Ljubljana and the Museum and Galleries of the City of Ljubljana. #sanjamknjigeuistri #sanjamknjige #bookfairyinistria #ljubljanabere #samirakentric #dusansarotar
