Thumbelina – Children’s Play (Izola)

A gentle and lovely girl, barely the size of a thumb, is kidnapped by a treacherous old toad. With the help of the children, she manages to escape into the forest, where a kind-hearted field mouse saves her from the cold winter , but because of this she has to marry a boring mole. The swallow is the only one who could help Thumbelina, but she succumbed to the severe cold and we no longer hear the beating of her heart... But maybe she is not completely dead, maybe friends can help and maybe swallows really do bring happiness. Our Thumbelina is a story about courage and true love that saves everything. It is a story about strength that does not come from the size of the body, but from the purity of the heart and about finding yourself and your place in a world of big and different people. We will learn a lot about the world, a lot about the people who come our way in life and about how important it is to stay true to yourself. And with the happy ending of Andersen's most beautiful fairy tale, the sun shines after every rain , especially if we are good, honest and have earned this sun. The performance will take place on Saturday, January 30, 2027 at 5:00 PM at the Izola Cultural Center. The ticket price for the performance is €7.
