Trka na prstenac - Barban 2026.

Trka na prstenac (The Ring Race) – one of the most authentic and dramatic competitions in Croatia, which has been held in Barban since 1696. August 21-23, 2026, Barban Horsemen in 17th-century knightly costumes ride through Barban’s streets and try to hit a small iron ring with a spear, only 10 centimeters in diameter. Each horseman rides at full gallop, and precision and speed determine the winner. Program: • Ceremonial procession of horsemen and escorts in historical costumes • Performance by Barban folklore groups and musicians • Open rehearsal for spectators the day before the race • Closing ceremony and award ceremony • Local products and gastronomy fair The event is held as part of the old Barban tradition and attracts visitors from all over Europe. Admission is free.
