Time Machine of Group 4'33'' – 30th anniversary

To mark the 30th anniversary of the founding of Group 4'33'', a documentary-music evening "Time Machine of Group 4'33''" will be held on Saturday, 31 October at 8 PM at Centar Gervais in Opatija. Through photographs, videos, archive materials, music and personal testimonies of former members, the audience will follow the journey from the founding in 1996, the first Christmas concerts and work with young musicians, through the album Dobro jutro, Opatijo and the project Stara dama, to the large original music-and-stage projects DisCoral and Vidih vodu. The story of Group 4'33'' opens up a wider picture of Opatija at that time – its cultural and social life and the generation of young people for whom music was a space for meeting, creating and growing up. Through music, people and memories, a chapter of the city's cultural history is opened. This anniversary has brought the members of Group 4'33'' together again; they will perform a selection from their former repertoire, accompanied by long-time collaborators, pianist Vladimir Babin and arranger and producer Aleksandar Valenčić. Hosts: Matej Kovač and Natali Kuljanac. After the official programme, participants, members and friends of Group 4'33'' will gather at the Ružmarin restaurant. "Time Machine of Group 4'33''" is a musical-documentary story about one Opatija music group, but also about the city, its cultural memory and the generations of young people who became part of its history through music.
