LA FIESTA – HRT Jazz Orchestra

The HRT Jazz Orchestra, one of the longest-running big bands in the world and the only professional jazz orchestra in Croatia, brings the concert LA FIESTA! under the artistic direction of the distinguished Croatian jazz musician, composer and arranger Miron Hauser. The concert is a musical journey through the world of Latin jazz, combining energetic rhythms, rich instrumental colours, dynamic improvisation and the unmistakable freedom of jazz. The HRT Jazz Orchestra began in 1946/1947 as the Dance Orchestra of Radio Zagreb. Over nearly eight decades it has grown into one of the most important Croatian jazz ensembles and has collaborated with many Croatian and international musicians, including Darko Rundek, Mangroove, Cubismo and TBF, as well as Thana Alexa, Elliot Mason, Alex Sipiagin, Javier Girotto, Ted Nash and Makoto Ozone. Since 2019/2020 it has been led by Miron Hauser, a trombonist, composer and arranger and winner of several Status and Porin awards. LA FIESTA! invites the audience to give in to the rhythm and energy of Latin jazz – an evening where jazz meets the temperament of Cuba and Latin America. 📅 Wednesday, 7 October 2026, 7:00 PM 📍 Centar Gervais, Opatija 🎟️ Free admission – tickets can be collected at the Festival Opatija office at the Summer Stage (Zert 6A) on weekdays from 8 AM to 3 PM.
