16:00 – 19:00

Location

Pazin

On Thursday, 24 September at 6 PM, we are opening the Film Room, a new exhibition space dedicated to the film heritage of Istria, at Magnus – the newly renovated multifunctional space of the Spomen dom in Pazin. IKA – the Istrian Cultural Agency and the Istrian Film Commission bring you film stories: stories of nine decades of filming at locations across Istria, as well as stories that are yet to be told on the big screen. Magnus has opened its doors to the Film Room, while the City of Pazin, as a partner, has recognized the importance of documenting and presenting Istria's film heritage, as well as the idea of creating a small cinema dedicated to independent, auteur and artistic film within the new multifunctional space. The exhibition "Nine Decades of Film at Istrian Locations" tells the story of Istria both in front of and behind the camera through ten exhibition panels, presenting local and major international productions as well as new generations of Istrian filmmakers. The opening programme begins with a guided tour of the exhibition, followed by a performance of well-known film melodies by the "Naša sloga" Babići Wind Orchestra. The evening continues with screenings of three short films from Istria, followed by a conversation with their authors: 🎬 Tutto Pulito – directed by Dan Pauletta 🎬 Captain Morgan's Treasure – directed by Katarina Radetić 🎬 Remember That I Carry You – directed by Ana Predan Free admission. The renovation of the Film Room and the purchase of cinema equipment were co-financed through the REEL project, within the Interreg Italy–Croatia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2021–2027.
